As you no doubt have noticed by now, Mozilla launched Firefox 4 this week. It was downloaded 7.1 million times in the first 24 hours, and is now up to 15 million downloads and counting. Depending on who you ask, Firefox currently has a worldwide market share of anywhere from 22% to 31% (the former according to Net Applications, the latter according to StatCounter). The difference mostly depends on which websites make up the sample. Also worth noting is that when you look at individual countries, Firefox market share can be significantly higher than this. In Germany, for example, Firefox has more than 60% of the web browser market according to StatCounter. Ze Germans do like their Firefox.
